Aurora Shetland Sheepdogs was founded in 1987 with the purchase of a Bi Black bitch named "Orchid", CeeBar's The Black Orchid. Shortly after that "Possum", Ch Messina's Bi American a beautiful Bi Blue Merle, came to live with us from Penny Michie, MacPenn. Possum finished his championship while here at Aurora.

Although Orchid never finished (12pts, with 1 major US and 9 pts Canadian) she and Possum were very sound and possessed the head type which is missing in many shelties today. We lost Possum at the young age of seven years, and Orchid at the ripe old age of sixteen!

They are missed but never forgotten since we are lucky enough to still see both of them in the faces of their progeny --

Proudly, now eight generations later in Cherry's puppies and their puppies we can still see their influence.
